Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 oz shredded cheese
  • 12 tortillas or taco shells

How to Make the Taco Shells

If you’re making the shells from scratch, here’s the secret to getting them perfectly crispy:

  1. Steam the Tortillas:
    • Wet some paper towels, wring them out, and layer with tortillas on a plate.
    • Microwave for 30 seconds until soft.
  2. Shape & Bake:
    • Lightly spray each tortilla with cooking spray.
    • Drape over two bars of the oven rack.
    • Bake at 350–375°F for 7–10 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
    • Set aside to cool slightly.
