  • 2 cups (480ml) whole milk 🥛

  • 1 vanilla bean (split & scraped) or 1 tsp vanilla extract 🌿

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (plus extra for greasing) 🧈

  • ½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour 🌾

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar 🍚

  • 2 large eggs 🥚

  • 2 large egg yolks 🍳

  • 2 tbsp dark rum (optional, but recommended) 🍹

  • Pinch of salt 🧂
