- 1 can (28 oz / 800g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 small can (6 oz / 170g) tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp sugar (balances acidity)
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup water (to adjust consistency)
For the Spaghetti:
- 12 oz (340g) spaghetti or preferred pasta
- Salt (for boiling water)
For Garnish (Optional):
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Chopped fresh parsley
