  • 1 ½ lbs large sea scallops (about 12), patted dry
  • 6-8 slices bacon, cut in half crosswise (½ lb)
  • 2 tbsp salted butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar (optional but recommended)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Toothpicks (for securing bacon)
