Instructions:
1. Prepare the Wontons:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, brown sugar, and chopped green onions. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 heaping teaspoon of the pork filling in the center of the wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger or a brush. Fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges firmly to seal and remove any air pockets.
- Take the two opposite corners of the long edge of the triangle and bring them together, overlapping slightly. Press firmly to seal, moistening the edges if needed. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Set the assembled wontons aside while you prepare the soup.
2. Prepare the Soup:
- In a medium-sized pot, combine the chicken broth, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chopped green onions. Heat over medium heat until the broth is warm and fragrant.
- In a separate large pot, bring about 4 quarts of water to a rolling boil. Carefully add the wontons to the boiling water and cook for about 5 minutes, or until they float to the surface and the filling is cooked through.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons from the water and transfer them to the warm broth.
3. Serve:
- Ladle the soup and wontons into serving bowls. Garnish with additional chopped green onions if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade wonton soup!
