Tomato Soup Instructions:
- Aromatic Base:
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Sauté diced onion for 5 minutes until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Building the Flavor:
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, vegetable broth, tomato paste, and basil.
- Add thyme and sugar (if using). Mix well.
- Simmer and Blend:
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 15–20 minutes.
- Use an immersion blender to achieve a smooth texture.
- Stir in cream or milk (if using) for a creamier consistency.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
