1. Prepare the Dough
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. The dough should be soft but not sticky. If needed, add a little more flour.
2. Make the Cheesecake Filling
- In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Gently fold in the strawberry jam, leaving some swirls for a marbled effect.
3. Shape the Donut Holes
- Roll the dough into small balls (about 1-inch in diameter).
- Flatten each ball slightly and place about ½ teaspoon of the cheesecake filling in the center.
- Carefully pinch the dough around the filling to seal, then roll back into a smooth ball.
4. Fry the Donut Holes
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the donut holes in batches for 2–3 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
5. Serve
- Dust with powdered sugar (optional) while still warm.
- Enjoy fresh!
These donut holes are best served warm, with a gooey strawberry cheesecake center. 🍓🍩
