Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles along the perforated lines. Place one cooked sausage link on the wide end of each triangle. Optional: Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the sausage for an extra cheesy flavor. Roll the dough around the sausage, starting at the wide end and rolling toward the narrow tip. Place each roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Optional: Brush the tops with beaten egg to achieve a golden, glossy finish. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and fully cooked. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
