Instructions

  1. Prepare the patties:

    • Shape the ground beef into 3 thin patties, roughly matching the size of your bread slices.

    • Season both sides with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

    • Cook over medium-high heat in a skillet until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.

  2. Make the secret sauce:

    • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, bacon pieces, ketchup, sugar, and relish until smooth. Set aside.

  3. Assemble the melts:

    • Wipe the skillet clean and reduce heat to medium.

    • Butter one side of each bread slice.

    • Place 3 slices in the skillet, buttered side down.

    • Layer each with:

      • 2 slices provolone

      • 1 cooked patty

      • 2 slices cheddar

    • Spread a thin layer of the secret sauce on the unbuttered side of the remaining bread slices, then place them sauce side down on top of the melts.

  4. Cook & serve:

    • Once the provolone has melted and the bottom bread is golden brown (about 3–4 minutes), carefully flip each melt.

    • Toast the other side until crispy and the cheese is fully melted.

    • Slice in half and serve hot.

Enjoy your delicious, gooey Patty Melts!
