Instructions
1. Brown the Sausage
- Heat oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced sausage and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
2. Sauté the Veggies
- In the same pan, cook onion and bell pepper for 3 minutes until soft.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Toast the Rice & Seasonings
- Add rice, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to coat the rice in the spices.
4. Simmer to Perfection
- Pour in chicken broth and BBQ sauce, then return the sausage to the pan.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until rice is tender.
5. Serve & Enjoy!
- Fluff the rice with a fork, drizzle with extra BBQ sauce, and garnish with parsley or green onions.
