Instructions

1. Prep & Cook the Filling

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a deep-dish pie plate.

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage, breaking it into crumbles.

  • Add diced onion, red pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté until softened (about 5 minutes).

  • Stir in garlic and cook for another minute. Remove from heat and drain excess grease.

2. Make the Batter

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, Bisquick, sage, and black pepper until smooth.

3. Assemble the Pie

  • Transfer the sausage-veggie mixture into the greased pie plate.

  • Sprinkle 2 cups of shredded cheese over the filling and mix lightly.

  • Pour the batter evenly over the top.

4. Bake to Perfection

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are golden.

  • Remove from oven, sprinkle with the remaining ½ cup cheese, and return for 1-2 minutes just to melt.

  • Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
