### How to Make It

1. **Prepare the sauce:** In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake (if using), sugar, and grated ginger.
2. **Cook the chicken:** Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through.
3. **Add the sauce:** Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken. Let it simmer for a few minutes, turning the chicken occasionally until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken beautifully.
4. **Serve:** Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve over steamed rice or alongside sautéed vegetables.

### Why We Love It

* **Quick and simple:** Ready in under 30 minutes.
* **Balanced flavors:** Sweet, salty, and umami-rich.
* **Versatile:** Works with chicken, beef, tofu, or veggies.
* **Authentic taste:** A genuine flavor of Japanese home cooking.
