Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Beat eggs in a large bowl, then mix in cinnamon, buttermilk, milk, and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, sift together sugar, baking powder, and baking soda, then add to the egg mixture.
- Stir in melted margarine. Gradually mix in flour until fully combined.
- Fold in apples, salt, corn syrup, and walnuts.
- Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, melt margarine in a saucepan. Add baking soda, sugar, and vanilla. Cook over low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Remove the cake from the oven and pour the hot glaze over it.
- Let cool in the pan before serving.
Storage
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
