Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

Directions

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
Add the chopped onion, garlic, green pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté for 5–7 minutes, until vegetables are softened and fragrant.
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1–2 minutes.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Add bay leaf, oregano, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir well to combine.
Reduce the heat to low, cover partially, and let the sauce simmer gently for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove the bay leaf. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot over your favorite pasta.
