    • Fresh green beans, snipped and cut into ½ to 1-inch pieces (a couple handfuls)
    • 1½ cups whole kernel corn
    • 1 yellow squash (or zucchini), diced
  • Canned Goods:
    • 2 cans diced tomatoes
    • 1 can cannellini beans
  • Greens:
    • Two big handfuls of fresh baby spinach
  • Pasta:
    • 1 cup Ditalini pasta
  • Sauce:
    • About a quart of red sauce (marinara, spaghetti sauce, or tomato sauce with herbs)
  • Seasonings:
    • 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
    • 2 bay leaves
    • 2 sprigs thyme, leaves stripped into the soup
    • 2 sprigs oregano, leaves stripped and minced
    • About 20 grinds black pepper
    • Optional: Diced frond of a bulb of fresh fennel, added at the end
