Hearty Beef and Rice Casserole with Cheese

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat Oven & Prepare Dish

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly grease a large baking dish or casserole pan with oil or cooking spray. Set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Ground Beef

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook for 6–8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

Step 3: Add Tomatoes & Seasonings

  • Stir in canned tomatoes, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5–10 minutes to blend flavors.

Step 4: Mix in Cooked Rice

  • Remove from heat and stir in cooked rice until well combined.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Step 5: Assemble the Casserole

  • Transfer the beef-rice mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly.
  • Sprinkle grated cheese evenly over the top.

Step 6: Bake Until Cheesy & Golden

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.

Step 7: Serve & Enjoy!

  • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs (optional) and enjoy warm!

Serving Suggestion: Pairs well with a side salad or garlic bread.

Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
