Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Place chicken breasts or thighs in the bottom of a slow cooker.

  2. Make the Broth Mixture:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together chicken broth, bouillon, lemon juice, lemon zest, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

    • Pour the mixture over the chicken.

  3. Add Aromatics & Butter:

    • Scatter minced garlic and diced butter over the chicken.

    • If using mushrooms, arrange them on top.

  4. Cook:

    • Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours, until chicken is tender and cooked through.

  5. Prepare the Cream Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, whisk heavy cream and cornstarch until smooth.

    • Pour into the slow cooker, stirring gently to combine.

    • Cover and cook an additional 15-20 minutes on HIGH, allowing the sauce to thicken.

  6. Serve & Garnish:

    • Spoon the creamy sauce over the chicken.

    • Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices.

    • Serve over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
